Vote Earth! Go Green!

Yes, you saw the title right. I typed this post in conjunction with the Earth Hour ’09 that was held yesterday, 28th of March, at CapSquare, KL. (Well, the title was influnced by Puteri with “Vote Earth” and Joey G, who was the speaker of the event with “Go Green”.) That night, Joey G asked the audiences a very typical yet crucial question, what it means to “Go Green”? He has said that beside switching of the lightings and reducing the usage of electricity a day, there are also other means like not littering, not to waste of water to preserve Mother Earth and etc etc. Those are just the normal ways of people around us do things to be “green”. To think of it again, what it really means to “Go Green”?

I had a friend who asked me this similar question again right after the event. Obviously some would just answer the same like how Joey G said. “But think again do you really know what it means to “Go Green” and what it meant by “Go Green”?” said my friend. After hearing this, I knew want to know something more. (Actually he just needed help in his assignment. LOL) Well, this is what I explained to him.

The colour green to us represents the land, the environment, the very habitat of the very beings like us stay in the heart of our great Mother Earth. The green could represent the very simple cell of an organism to the largest tree on Earth. It was the greens that we as humans have our very basic materials to build our own shelter. It was the greens that to many have thought to bring peace in mind. It was the greens that build up the very foundation of the many cures to the disease as well as for the future of anti-cancer drugs. It was the greens that has been a great habitat for the vast population of various kinds of animals. The very green itself states the primary state of the looks of our lands that is now a tale to tell to many of the countries to their nations’ children. Would you want it to be the same for you in the future?

Without the greens, our Mother Earth would looks as bare from space. The lost of many flora and fauna would eventually become a part of the museum or even just in a book, noting as a story to tell to the following generations ahead of what it looks like. We are not selfish beings who only care for ourselves, we are beings created with interlectual abilities who are able to think of what is best for us as well as for the best of our future generations ahead. You wouldn’t want your children to suffer. You don’t even want you, yourself to suffer from the countless why as well as the countless answer to give to your children, to explain of all the lost environment that we once have. Besides, you don’t want to stroll around the park wearing special made suits and mask. Am I right? Hehe

Go Green to me would mean to vanquish of whatever source that might cause such a tragedy in the future and to do something that might eventually lighten the burden for the recovery of our beloved Mother Earth. You don’t want Mother Earth to do something to us like in the movie “The day after tomorrow” right? It is an act to repay what Mother Earth has gave us, it is to repent of the things that we have taken for granted, it is going towards a goal of restoring the “Green” part of the world, not just for you, or for me. Its for everyone and everything on Earth. Vote Earth! Go Green!
